Team Shireburn wins Rotary Malta Kontiki RaceShireburn Software won this year’s Rotary Club Malta Kontiki Challenge that took place on Saturday 11th July. Teams raced across Balluta Bay with their own man-made sea crafts, raising funds for Dar il-Kaptan.

Shirebrun supports Hospice MaltaShireburn Software is supporting the Hospice Malta Open House taking place on Sunday 7th June 2015 from 9.00am onwards.

Hospice Malta invites families to attend this event during which several activities will be held. These include the celebration of Holy Mass at 10.00am, followed by the San Gabriel’s Balzan brass band, a dog show by the Police Force Dog Section, a Bazaar, Cake sale and fun activities for children including Bouncing Castle, face painting and more.

French ICT Students visit Shireburn SoftwareShireburn Software this week welcomed a group of 16 French ICT students from Lycée La Rebours Paris. The students visited Malta to improve their English, and learn how companies like Shireburn thrive in their sector, both locally and overseas. The visit was coordinated by the Maltese French Chamber of Commerce.

Over the years, Shireburn has supported education and ICT in a number of ways. The company recently sponsored the University of Malta ICT Student Association (ICTSA), signing a one year agreement as a gold sponsor. Through this agreement, Shireburn supports ICTSA in reaching its objectives as a focal student body in the future of ICT in Malta, seeking to attract more students to this sector. The collaboration between Shireburn and ICTSA will also ensure that students benefit from excellent career opportunities and industry exposure, both throughout their formal studies at the University, but also beyond.

Through this agreement, Shireburn will support ICTSA in reaching its objectives as a focal student body in the future of the ICT in Malta, seeking to attract more students to this sector.

The collaboration between Shireburn and ICTSA will also ensure that students benefit from excellent career opportunities and industry exposure, both throughout their formal studies at the University, but also beyond.

ICTSA strives to represent all University students reading any degree in some way associated with information and communications technology.

This initiative forms part of Shireburn’s ongoing commitment to support the IT professionals of the future. Shireburn is also currently in discussions with MCAST in order to take on students as apprentices for the coming year.

One year at SkyParks

One year on at our new offices at SkyParks Business Centre

One year at SkyParksShireburn Software employees this week celebrated their first year at their new offices at Skyparks Business Centre.

Commemorating the event, Managing Director John de Giorgio and Operations Director Franco Galea, thanked the team for their hard work throughout the year, and also thanked their customers for their consistent support and trust in Shireburn.

The new and larger office space was designed to support Shireburn’s growth, allowing the company to expand its team to be able to support Shireburn’s increasing local and international success. The open plan environment also enhanced the team’s operations and culture, lending itself to a stronger team climate and more efficient operations.

The company’s social committee surprised their colleagues and directors with the Shireburn branded cake and some traditional local lent sweets.

The SkyParks Business Centre offers what is considered to be the highest standard of office accommodation in Malta with Malta’s first BREEAM certified Grade A offices, an important consideration for a company such as Shireburn which is conscious of its environmental footprint.
