Shireburn Software chosen for PAMA Shopping Village

Pama Shopping Mall
Pama Shopping Mall

Shireburn’s leading shopping mall management software solution, CA+, has been chosen to manage the PAMA Shopping Village, connecting all the retail and food & beverage outlets to the company’s Concessionaire Analyzer+ (CA) mall software.

By using CA+, PAMA management will be able to automatically collect detailed sales data from all point-of-sales into one single multi-user portal and provide insight through the Business Intelligence module that will enable them to optimise the performance of all the outlets in the mall.  These will include sales data from the supermarket itself, their shop-in-shops, outdoor outlets as well as those within the new shopping mall, the majority of which work on a rent and/or revenue share based fee.

CA+ Business Intelligence Dashboards

The CA+ mall software will also be used to provide business intelligence for both the PAVI and PAMA supermarkets including all the shop-in-shops resulting in the management of 90 outlets.

The large majority of retailers at the PAMA Shopping Village already use Shireburn’s Point of Sale solution and will automatically interface with CA+ and pass on sales data in real time. Retailers using other POS solutions have the capability to interface with CA+ through a number of different methods in order to pass on their data.

CA+ is designed to automate many of the processes that are required to manage large shopping malls, airports and franchises with multiple outlets, aiming to reduce manual intervention, eliminate the use of spreadsheets, and enable a more efficient method of operating while providing greater insight.

With built-in contract management, revenue share calculation and billing, management teams are able to assess sales and revenues far quicker than ever before, and issue billing to outlets accordingly. Sales data will be collected in real time, allowing in depth Business Intelligence (BI) analysis through an intuitive portal.

CA+ will improve the management of all processes and help to improve insight, enabling it to further boost the performance of the concessions within both PAVI and PAMA complexes.

The project covers two of the largest supermarkets on the island, and many of the top franchises and local stores available in both Malta and Gozo.

The CA+ solution has been a great success internationally, with separate editions for airports and shopping malls, both of which operate in very similar ways in terms of the retail and food and beverage outlets. Shireburn is the leading supplier of software in Malta to the retail sector.

PAMA Shopping Village celebrates its first anniversary this month, and this coincides with the opening of the new Shopping Mall. PAVI Shopping Complex also celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Shireburn’s CA+ wins Kenya Airports tender for Concession Management

Kenya Airports AuthorityKenya Airports Authority (KAA) has chosen Shireburn Group’s Concessionaire Analyzer+ (CA+) software solution to better manage its concession-based commercial business and to help improve their non-aeronautical revenues. KAA manages 11 airports in Kenya.

The 5 year contract was won by CA Plus Ltd, a member of the Shireburn Group, together with its reseller, Eastra Solutions Ltd, a Nairobi based solution provider specialising in systems integration and enterprise IT operations and services.

John de Giorgio, Managing Director of the Shireburn Group, commented that “the African airport market is developing rapidly, with increased investments being made in infrastructure. CA+ will enable these airports to secure their commercial revenues in order to sustain further investment through boosting non-aeronautical revenues.”

Concessionaire Analyzer+The CA+ software continues to gain ground on several continents, and now with this first CA+ installation, on the African continent. Earlier this year the company also concluded contracts with Antigua Airport in the Caribbean and is currently running a number of pilots projects in the Middle East.

Shireburn’s CA+ has established itself as the leader in the airport non-aeronautical software sector, and has grown a network of partners and re-sellers in order to assist with its expansion and implementation. These include partners assisting with projects in North America, Latin America, Caribbean as well as the Middle East and India.

This has also in turn led to a growth in team resources locally, as well as a recent office expansion at SkyParks Business Centre, where the Shireburn Group has increased its office footprint in order to accommodate its growth.

Shireburn’s CA+ solution will enable KAA to collect transactional sales data from each concessionaire even though they are each running their own individual POSs on different platforms. All sales data is then integrated into a single platform, where sales can be correlated with concession contracts, flight data and other operational information through the integrated Business Intelligence and Big Data analytics module. This will provide KAA with a level of insight never before possible, allowing them to assess sales patterns and boost their non-aeronautical revenues through better concession management.

CA+ will provide an overall improvement in the sales data collection process, enabling more efficient automation of contract management and analysis, replacing much of the spreadsheet and manual input of data that today dominates most airport commercial teams. KAA will then be more able to work with concessionaires to further enhance their performance, optimizing non-aeronautical sales and enhancing revenue management improving the position for both concessionaire and the KAA.

KAA opted for an on-premises installation of CA+, and this will include several modules. The CA+ Data Collection module will be integrated with the Flights Module and the BI Module for reporting and dashboards on a web-based platform. The CA+ Revenue Calculation and Billing Module will allow KAA to automate the calculation of revenues due and then integrate with their SAP ERP system for billing purposes, drastically reducing the man hours required to invoice concessions.

David Kabundu, The Managing Director of Eastra solutions limited, commented that “We partnered with CA Plus Limited, because we felt that their products addressed KAA needs and would enable efficient management of their concession-based commercial business”.

Kasaine ole Pertet, the General Manager ICT at KAA, commented that “The Authority is excited to be partnering with both CA+ and Eastra to implement the Concession Management Solution at our main airport – JKIA. The solution will enable KAA to enhance non-aeronautical revenues by having clear visibility of sales transactions on a real-time basis.”

Shireburn’s Managing Director John de Giorgio said “We’ve had growing interest from airports in the Caribbean who are recognising the importance of improved management and control of their non-aeronautical sector, and the revenue opportunities this brings, automating many of the processes and gaining the insight to be able to better work with their concessions to enable them to succeed. Geneva George, Commercial Manager at Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority (ABAA) also commented on the project. “The ABAA stands firmly behind our motto ‘We Deliver’. In this same trend we are energized to showcase our newly built state of the art V.C. Bird International Airport (VCBIA) terminal and also to be compared with other first world countries in advanced technology. We are excited to partner with CA+. As we embark on this journey, we anticipate that this relationship will bring great rewards for us and our concessionaires.”

This project is part of ANU’s strategy to further boost the contribution made from the non-aeronautical sector.

ANU will be using CA+ to improve sales data collection processes so as to enable more efficient automation of contract management and analysis, replacing much of the spreadsheet and manual input of data that today dominates most airport commercial teams. CA+ will allow ANU to obtain a better insight of sales patterns and to work with concessionaires to evaluate and help improve their performance.

ANU will be fully automating the process of collecting detailed sales data from concessionaires as well as flight details from their operational systems and will be using the CA+ Business Intelligence platform to correlate sales with flight data as well as other operational information. This will enable ANU to measure and analyse sales performance through a number of dashboards and reports on the fly, providing better insights into their sales patterns in order to optimise its retail and food & beverage operations and performance. ANU will also be able to create their own BI dashboards based on performance KPIs.

In addition, CA+ will enable ANU to automate the revenue calculation process, and issue billing, interfacing with their own accounting ERP system. This will provide the airport with a holistic management tool for the entire non-aeronautical sector.

Shireburn will next be showcasing their CA+ solution at the British-Irish Expo in Birmingham, UK, on the 8th and 9th June.
