Shireburn Software appoints Adrienne McCarthy as CEO to lead company’s next growth phase

Yasmin de Giorgio transitions to the Board of Directors following a transformative leadership period.

Shireburn Software today announced the appointment of Adrienne McCarthy as Chief Executive Officer, effective January 2026, marking the start of a bold new chapter for the company. Adrienne’s leadership will build on Shireburn’s strong foundations while propelling the organisation forward into its next phase of innovation and growth.

Adrienne has been serving as Regional Director of People with KPMG Islands Group and has been based in Malta for the past 11 years, giving her a deep understanding of both international and local business contexts. With qualifications in computer programming, HR, and organisational psychology, as well as extensive experience across the tech and people development sectors, Adrienne brings a rare combination of technical acumen and human-centred leadership. Her profile uniquely reflects the evolution of Shireburn itself: a company rooted in software excellence and driven by a deep understanding of people and business.

As AI and technological change accelerate, Adrienne’s proven experience in bringing transformative technologies into international business environments positions her perfectly to guide Shireburn into the future. Following her successful tenure as CEO, Yasmin de Giorgio will transition to the company’s Board of Directors, where she will continue to contribute to Shireburn’s strategic direction. Yasmin’s leadership was instrumental in transforming Shireburn into a more people-focused, forward-looking organisation, launching key initiatives such as the HR Suite and the Shireburn Academy. She has also successfully led the team to the final stages of developing and preparing for the launch of Shireburn’s new cloud-based financial suite, Indigo Business.

These developments have laid the groundwork for an exciting new chapter under Adrienne McCarthy’s leadership. She will lead the team through the Indigo Business launch early next year, continue to build on Indigo’s strong position as market leader in Payroll and HR and guide clients through key regulatory changes such as the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
