Over the 8
th and 9
th of October, Shireburn Software took part in the UK’s Lotus User Group exhibition. It is one of the largest Lotus gatherings in the UK and covers a wide range of technical sessions on the latest developments. There was a range of excellent talks on the new developments in the Lotus world. Such as; the new Lotus Notes & Domino 8.5, which was just launched, the upgraded Sametime Advanced and Lotus Quickr 8.5
The conference gave the Shireburn Sales team a great opportunity to promote Integra for Notes, to the Lotus Notes community. The software which exports Lotus Notes data to Microsoft Office and IBM Symphony, is a niche product in the Lotus community, which has won various international awards in the past few years. The Shireburn team participated in a ‘speed sponsorship’ session, which saw them having to demonstrate the software in 3 minutes to over 15 different ‘dates’. This gave the team good practice as they start warming up for Lotusphere.
The conference was a rare opportunity to get many excellent speakers in the same room, a luxury usually reserved for the annual Lotusphere conference in the US, which Shireburn will also be exhibiting at. As well as covering latest software developments, the talks covered all aspects of Lotus thinking. From a talk on applying environmental consciousness to Lotus Notes, to talks on enterprise security, the talks were incredibly varied. Bob Picciano, the General Manager of Lotus and Websphere portal software, stole the show with his keynote speech delivered to a packed room. The conference ended to a standing ovation as everyone already starts thinking about next year.
