Airport POS Integration with Flight Information Systems
Retail shops in airport terminals usually offer different pricing based on the destination of travellers according to the tax and duty regime applicable in respect of those destinations. Automation of this process so as to ensure correct price application and compliance with legislation is very important. In addition, the business intelligence about retail spending patterns by flight, airline etc are invaluable to allow airport terminals to maximise their retail related revenues.
Shireburn's Concessionaire Analyzer+ solution, while acting as a data warehouse of sales information, also provides integration to flight information systems (FIDS) to allow details of upcoming flights to be distributed automatically to the POSs in the airport terminal. Integration between the CA+ can be effected either through the use of web services, or through a standards based file exchange. CA+ also supports uploading of flight data via Microsoft Excel.

Boarding passes at the point-of-sale are able to be swiped or scanned by Airport.POS to automatically determine selling prices and for recording of sales transactions. A.POS supports MICR readers and conventional as well as 2D bar codes.
