How does DATASAFE™ work?
The efficient and user-friendly DATASAFE™ APPLICATION is installed and configured on one or more of your PC’s, laptops and/or servers. You create one or more DataSafe Backup Sets which allows you to identify the folders and/or files that you wish to backup according to a particular schedule. According to the defined schedules your server, laptop or workstations will automatically encrypt and transfer the changes to your folders and files to the DataSafe Servers from which they can be restored in the event of any data loss or theft.
DATASAFE™ runs in the background, very much like a virus scanner, and constantly monitors your important files and backs up your latest work.
Implementing a “set it and forget it” approach, backups are performed automatically at predefined times every day and night or at the click of a button according to your requirements. You can also back up selected portions of your data on a continuous basis.
The process is completely automatic and does not require intervention, so that you can free your mind of any backup concerns. While you may still choose to backup your data on tapes or external drives as an added precaution, the automation involved with DataSafe ensures your critical data is available to you when the need arises as it is off-site and secure. This protects against theft of computer equipment, loss or breakage of laptops etc.
