Concessionaire Analyzer+ - Solution Architecture
Concessionaire Analyzer+ solution from Shireburn Software allows airport terminal operators to centrally record sales data related to the concessionaires operating within the terminal and to carry out business intelligence report and invoicing. The solution is architected using a number of components primarily consisting of:
- Concessionaire Analyser+ is a data warehouse which collects all sales data from concessionaires in the airport through established interfaces
- Optionally, Airport POS - a Point-of-Sale solution which can be deployed optionally to concessionaires providing a fully functional POS solution including linkage with FIDS >> read more about Airport POS
- A web service to synchronise sales data between the concessionaires' POSs and the data warehouse (from both the Airport POS and the concessionaires' own POS solutions)
- A facility to allow concessionaires to upload stock details and POS configuration information as well as download sales data using predefined format files via a web browser on a secure web site
- A component to integrate CA+ with the airport's Flight Information Data System (FIDS) for flight validation.
- the CA+ concessionaires' portal that allows reporting of a concessionaires' sales performance expressed as a percentage of total sales in the airport and reflecting passenger traffic.
The diagram below shows the components of the airport retailing and concessionaire performance analysis. Note that CA+ supports both the continued use of concessionaires' own POS solutions as well as the "imposition" of POSs by the terminal upon the concessionaire through the use of A-POS, the POS retailing solution designed specifically for airports, thus allowing an increased level of control.
In the event that the terminal operator chooses to impose Airport POS on the concessionaires, the concessionaires will be able to automate the upload of stock details, pricing, categorisation etc through an established interface from their own backend ERP systems. This can be achieved using any mix of:
- the CA+ web service
- Microsoft Excel (using a predefined template)
- manual loading of files in predefined formats via the concessionaires' portal
